Even sounds it has like a rotating speaker in there, but always on. IMHO, Scaler is not just a “good” product, it’s an “important” one. VST OctBUZ is an old distortion + octaver (Octave-1). The Scaler design team, David, Ed, and all involved in developing Scaler should have confidence in yourselves and this powerful musical invention you’ve made. I think this reflects a certain soundness (no pun intended) to the thinking and skill of Scaler’s designers. Then, just when you’ve learned that version, a new version is released and your set-ups and templates are wrecked again.Įach release of Scaler I’ve used has added significant updates to the music-making functionality of the program while not putting me on a whole new planet. One of the things I disliked about MS Word was that each new version would trash your set-ups and templates from the previous one and take away useful functions while adding a whole lot of “new” you had learn. I really like the Scaler UI and would rather see significant updates to it rather than a total revamp. In general, my preference would be for Transpose and Inversion +/- arrows on the Chord Pads themselves. So that you could set +3 semitones and then switch oct up and down with this offset. When I’m using scaler only with the cursor, which happens very often, I prefer the shift solution, because it’s faster.įor both cases it’s important that OCT is just added to the current semitone transpose. A bit padding would help against accidental clicks. That said, the arrows are pretty near to the ST area. In this case I prefer the first idea with the click on ST to switch to OCT. Shift will work too, but not having to move my hand to the computer keyboard to do it is a bit nicer. Sometimes I’m with one hand on the piano and with the other on the mouse. Related to your question about the ideas: Like a directional pad, which you have on a lot of devices? Or what about a control like the one now, but with just one arrow above and one below to add ☑2. I know it’s not what you want to hear, but I think best would be to bring the Scaler 1 solution back. And this long pop up is also not that nice. I understand that you want reduce it to the max, but this control worked really well in Scaler 1. But a perfect solution would be a way were you don’t have to switch anything. Thanks for considering.Īctually, both ideas would be an enhancement.
